PAARL AREA PROFILE

Located approximately 60km from Cape Town on the N1 Highway, Paarl is a town of many facets. It was here that the Afrikaans language took route. Proud of its heritage, the town boasts a fine memorial in the form of Die Taal Monument (Language Monument). The town also hosts the head office of the KWV (Co-operative Winemakers Association), an association responsible for most of the research, production and promotion of quality wine in South Africa and overseas.

Paarl in the Western Cape

Paarl’s rich history can also be seen in its fine array of well-preserved old buildings and houses dating back to the early settlers and the Victorian days. Many of these have been converted into places of accommodation and staying over in Paarl is an experience not easily forgotten.

In the heart of the Western Cape’s fabled Boland mountain landscape, signs of economic recovery and the increasing growth of Paarl as a top-end business and residential hub, have led to a collaboration on one of the first significant office parks in this region.

The new development has the added appeal of being right next door to the Paarl Mall, a powerful, modern retail magnet for the entire region, and a centre for community activity in the district, with its popular boutiques, coffee shops and national stores. The 5 000m² Paarl Business Park is a project initiated by national property development and investment group Atterbury Property, and Prosperito, a national developer based in Cape Town.
